Feedback provided to tutee:
Today, we started our lesson with her speaking for about ten minutes about her phone adventure, her class sign-up issues, and how she is moving her apartment. I corrected her grammar tense use occasionally. Then, we played an online word search game with themed vocabulary. For each theme (example: rollercoaster, candy, French food), we would practice pronunciation and I'd explain to her any cultural significance. With candy, we talked about American Halloween traditions, and with rollercoasters, I explained to her what Six Flags was versus Disney World.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned:
I was moving this weekend and didn't have as much time to work on a lesson plan. I learned that I can come up with something fun and still educational in the hour beforehand thanks to the Internet. However, I can't always rely on technology, so I should have a backup lesson plan available just in case.
