My tutee's phone plan was ending and needed to get a new SIM card, but wasn't sure how to express what she needed or what to ask for. I explained some English vocabulary themed around phones (like SIM card, billing plan, etc) so she would be more prepared. Then, we had a mock conversation between employee and customer so she could practice, and I corrected her when needed.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned:
It is nice when real-world examples come up that I can base lessons around! As someone who has had phone issues while living abroad, I know how important this knowledge can be, but I would not have thought to make a lesson about it without my tutee asking.
