Olivia TS #15

 July 26, 2021- I met with Paola outside of Strozier for an hour. First we did a review of active and passive voice. I gave a mini presentation and then did some exercises on swithcing sentences fom active to passive and vice versa. Then I presented some vocabulary from Indiana Jones and showed her the intro scene. I used some comprehension questions from Fun With Grammar and had her write the answers in passive voice and after compared them the active voice. Lastly, I read her a short paragraph full of slang that I commonly use and had he highlight all the slang words. I then gave her a brief a lesson on common slang words and how to appropriately use them. This was my last tutoring session with Paola:( She was so sweet and fun to work with. I am very impressed with her English and know she will do great at FSU.

 July 30th When working with Jael I realized on paper her English is almost perfect she can write sentences, uses some grammar, and knows a wide array of words. Her biggest issue is speaking and having conversations, so today was all conversations and reading. Jeah read a couple short stories and we just had a conversation about them.

Trying to further my evaluation of Jeahs skill we completing a reading assignment. Where we rfead brief articles and answered questions together. This testing her comprehension, which she is pretty good at. I've noticed if she reads out loud she seems to understand stuff better.

 August 3rd Today Jeah and I met after a brief break, we worked on learning new words and what they mean. She loves to draw so I let her draw the new words she learned.
