Topic/Skill: Discussing Short Scary Stories, Short Stories

Feedback provided to tutee:  For this session, Alice and I discussed some short stories that she has read. Some of these stories include the Trumpet Swan and some scary stories. I asked her to retell some of the stories that she read and she was able to include the characters and the plot of the story. She was also able to tell some myths and legends too, and she was able to recall specific information from the stories. Alice could also recall what the characters said in the stories.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: This tutoring session was a surprise session, I had not known the parents of Alice wanted to schedule one this day. However, I remembered that Alice loved talking about scary stories and we were able to talk about these stories for the whole hour. I learned that I should create a backup lesson in case I don't have anything planned. I'm glad that Alice is comfortable enough to share her favorite stories.
