Topic/Skill: Reading

Feedback provided to tutee: For today's session we focused on Alices reading skills. Since she enjoys scary stories, we read together some scary short stories. I had her identify the characters, the plot, and the important details of these stories. I gave her some time to read these stories, and then we later discussed what she found. She did a good job recalling the story and including the details, I asked her to find.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: When Alice reads stories that she enjoys, her engagement increases. She starts talking about stories related to what we are reading. Today we focused on scary short stories and Alice was mentioning other scary stories that she has read. She also mentioned that she can read scarier stories than the ones I introduced to her.

 August 3rd Today Jeah and I met after a brief break, we worked on learning new words and what they mean. She loves to draw so I let her draw the new words she learned.
