Topic/Skill: Synonym/ Antonym, Homophone( Their/There/They're)

Feedback provided to tutee: Today we finished our Synonym/ Antonym lesson and Alice was able to grasp both of these topics.  The only problems we would get through would be Alice not understanding the vocabulary words, but I made sure to select easy-to-understand words so that she could identify the synonyms and the antonyms. Next, we moved to Homophones and we focused on Their, There, They're. Alice took a longer time distinguishing when to use Their and There. She was able to grasp They're since she mentioned she learnt it in school.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learnt that is is important to repeat the lesson. It is also good to rephrase definitions into your own words when introducing a new topic. I showed Alice both a video and powerpoint presentation on the homophones. And I showed her examples as well to help with comprehension.
