Jackson TS #7
On Monday, August 2 at 2:00pm, I met with my former foreign exchange student from France, Charles. My other 2 tutees are no longer available, so I am trying to make do with what I have. Charles hasn't used English in quite a while, so we worked mostly on pronunciation. I went over the tongue twister lesson with him, adapting it to his skills and interests as we went. We spent the most time on the minimal pairs list, going through all the words and pronouncing them so that he could get back into the hang of speaking in an understandable manner. After that, I just had him speak in general, talking about his life in the police force and what his family is doing, correcting his grammar and vocabulary along the way. He was very attentive to the lesson, which I was happy about, and we will do another one in the coming days.
