Jackson TS #10

 On Saturday, August 7, at 2:00pm, I met with Charles once again for another tutoring session. Charles is a cop in France, but has always had ambitions of coming over to the US for an advanced degree once he retires. As such, I taught him my email-writing lesson plan that I created for the writing unit. We went through the sample email a couple of times, and I was sure to highlight the body part of the email and give examples of other questions one could ask. We ended with him writing an email to FSU asking about programs for international students, as was the prompt of the writing activity, and it actually turned out really good. We talked about the differences with French email culture and American, and he talked about how much fluff Americans can add, especially in the closing of emails. Overall, it was a very informative lesson for both of us that I really enjoyed.

Trying to further my evaluation of Jeahs skill we completing a reading assignment. Where we rfead brief articles and answered questions together. This testing her comprehension, which she is pretty good at. I've noticed if she reads out loud she seems to understand stuff better.

 August 3rd Today Jeah and I met after a brief break, we worked on learning new words and what they mean. She loves to draw so I let her draw the new words she learned.
