Feedback provided: Today and Dave and I started again with a dictation exercise. I tried to chose a concept that was easier for him and I think he enjoyed the topic. I noticed there was some spelling errors but other than that, the activity was the perfect amount of easy but challenging for him. Instead of reading a story, I showed Dave a video from the movie Shrek. I had planned to play it twice and ask him some comprehension questions but he picked up that language that they used very well and was able to answer the questions without having to play the video again. When it came to the summary, I saw him struggle a bit. I showed him how to structure a summary using "first," "second,"and "lastly," and eventually he was able to appropriately summarize the clip on his own. 

Lessons I learned: When it came to Dave's summary of the clip, I noticed some structure errors and when I corrected them, I think it discouraged Dave a little. He showed frustration in himself today because he kept making small mistakes so next time I want to be better at acknowledging his fluency and learn how not to nitpick at small details.
