Topic/Skill: Olympics/Reading/Vocabulary

Feedback provided: For our last lesson, I still wanted to provide Dave with a culture lesson but I wanted it also to be something he knew or could relate to in some way. Sports are a big deal in the U.S.  and the Olympics are played by teams worldwide. First, I showed Dave a video of American fans reacting to Olympic gold medal wins so he can understand just how much it is celebrated here. Then, we worked on a worksheet that introduced new sports vocabulary to Dave while we watched videos of Olympic sports that he had not heard of before. He read a short article on these sports and answered comprehension and matching questions.

Trying to further my evaluation of Jeahs skill we completing a reading assignment. Where we rfead brief articles and answered questions together. This testing her comprehension, which she is pretty good at. I've noticed if she reads out loud she seems to understand stuff better.
