Topic/Skill: Writing a personal essay

Feedback provided to tutee:

We went over next few body paragraphs to her personal essay and edited it based on grammar. I also showed her how I look up synonyms on Google to help me find the best word choice in sentence. 

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: 

I can definitely see her writing skills improving! We had to make fewer edits compared to her previous essays and she can more clearly express her ideas to me. It is exciting to see her progress and makes me more confident in the lessons I've been planning.

Trying to further my evaluation of Jeahs skill we completing a reading assignment. Where we rfead brief articles and answered questions together. This testing her comprehension, which she is pretty good at. I've noticed if she reads out loud she seems to understand stuff better.
