Topic/Skill: Synonym & Antonym

Feedback provided to tutee: At first, we looked at synonym and antonyms for grade 4 students, as Alice has just finished 3rd grade. I thought it would be helpful if we worked on a grade 4 level. However, she was having trouble with the vocabulary words provided. I tried my best to define the words without giving away the answer, but it proved to be quite difficult for me. We had to go down a level, and we started on the grade 3 level. She did excellent with this level. I think this level did not test her enough. I do think that she should gradually work up to the grade 4 level.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned:  For today's session, we spent a long time talking than usual. I can see now that Alice is more comfortable with me and is opening more. This is a drastic difference from our first session, which I am so glad about. I notice that she is more engaged in our session, and she enjoys positive feedback. Even though she might get a question wrong, she does not let that stop her and still tries to get the right answer.
