My conversation with Ruth

Topic Discussed: Background info about each other, Majors, Cultural Backgrounds, Personalities, Discussing Fables.

Cultural and/ or linguistic topics you and your partner learned: My partner and I talked about where we are from, and mostly about ourselves. Ruth was born in Peru but spent around 15 years in Spain. She mentioned that she moved to Spain because there were many job opportunities.  After this, we talked about our majors. Ruth is going to school for engineering, and after she finishes her CIES class, she is going back to Spain and will return to Tallahassee next summer. We also talked about our future plans with our majors.  On zoom, the volume was low so it was hard to understand her at times. Also, I would say he was at an intermediate level when speaking. At times, it was difficult to understand her, but we had a successful session. We read a fable, and Ruth was able to pick up on the message of the story, so her Reading Comprehension was great.

Trying to further my evaluation of Jeahs skill we completing a reading assignment. Where we rfead brief articles and answered questions together. This testing her comprehension, which she is pretty good at. I've noticed if she reads out loud she seems to understand stuff better.

 August 3rd Today Jeah and I met after a brief break, we worked on learning new words and what they mean. She loves to draw so I let her draw the new words she learned.
