Jackson CP #1

 At 4:00pm on Friday, June 10, I had my first meeting with my conversation partner, Maher. The meeting was a little chaotic but very fun, as he had all 4 of his kids in the car with him and we paused a couple of times so that he could tell them to quiet down. We discussed the graphic organizer of our lives, as distributed by Mr. Valentine for use with our conversation partners, and spent quite a lot of time talking about his rationale for coming to America and why he wanted to learn English. We were cut off a little bit early when his internet connection went out, but plan to pick up where we left off next time, and even go further in our discussions of culture, travel, and language learning.

Trying to further my evaluation of Jeahs skill we completing a reading assignment. Where we rfead brief articles and answered questions together. This testing her comprehension, which she is pretty good at. I've noticed if she reads out loud she seems to understand stuff better.

 August 3rd Today Jeah and I met after a brief break, we worked on learning new words and what they mean. She loves to draw so I let her draw the new words she learned.
