Topic/Skill: Restaurant vocabulary and etiquette

Feedback provided to tutee: I had Je-won repeat sentences, phrases, and vocab words after me. If he didn't say them properly or clearly, I repeated them and had him repeat them back again. I gave him a multiple-choice dialogue of a conversation between him and a waitress. When he picked the incorrect choice, I would explain why it was incorrect and help him choose the correct one.

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that multiple choice quizzes are a good option for lower-level students. I need to work on lowering my tutee's affective filter because I think he is quite nervous when it comes to speaking. Either that, or he doesn't understand what I ask him. It is hard to tell because he knows a lot of vocabulary about some things but not others. I learned that I will need to find a better way to gauge what vocabulary he knows.

Trying to further my evaluation of Jeahs skill we completing a reading assignment. Where we rfead brief articles and answered questions together. This testing her comprehension, which she is pretty good at. I've noticed if she reads out loud she seems to understand stuff better.

 August 3rd Today Jeah and I met after a brief break, we worked on learning new words and what they mean. She loves to draw so I let her draw the new words she learned.
