Braden CO #2

My second class observation was a group four grammar class with Dr. Angel Rios. The students spoke English very fluently, and Dr. Rios communicated with them like he would with a classroom of native speakers. He didn't really slow down his speech or try to speak more clearly than usual. The class was learning about adjective clauses and relative pronouns. They started off with a whole class fill in the blank exercise, where Dr. Rios would call on students to guess the correct relative pronoun. After that, they started to make sentences using different pronouns. Some of them were about classmates, and then they even made a few about me. Following that, they did group work for another fill in the blank, and presented answers at the end. The things Dr. Rios corrected were much more semantic, like which pronouns might be technically correct but not really used in speech.
