Alexa Scalchunes TS #7

Today I met with Aziz, an upper intermediate student as CIES.

Topic/skill: Speaking skills, conversations

Feedback Provided: Aziz has been doing very well with his conversational skills. Some of the main issues are still the use of articles before nouns and sentence structure, but there were multiple point when Aziz caught his mistakes mid sentence and corrected them. Overall, he is doing very well conversationally and can discuss a wide range of topics.

Lessons about Tutoring Learned: Seeing Aziz improve with ideas we talked about has been very good. One thing I was able to help with that was new for me was discussing things applicable to American culture, such as the housing market and when to buy versus rent here.

Trying to further my evaluation of Jeahs skill we completing a reading assignment. Where we rfead brief articles and answered questions together. This testing her comprehension, which she is pretty good at. I've noticed if she reads out loud she seems to understand stuff better.

 August 3rd Today Jeah and I met after a brief break, we worked on learning new words and what they mean. She loves to draw so I let her draw the new words she learned.
