Alexa Scalchunes TS #14

 Today I met with Masoud, a beginner level CIES student.

Date: 7/25/2021, 10:30-11:30 am

Location: Lucky goat coffee

Feedback provided: Masoud had a grammar test on Tuesday, so we did a recap of all the verb conjugations we had reviewed in the past. We practiced sentence writing in all forms of the conjugations he has learned. I wrote short prompts for him to write answers to, but did not explicitly tell him what verb tense to use. He did pretty well with this but would sometimes not use the right form. Additionally, I had to keep encouraging Masoud to keep adding more details, as he was very short with his answers.

Lessons learned about tutoring: I liked coming up with the different prompts for Masoud and wish I got more creative with them. Masoud kept getting distracted during our lesson, so I had to keep working to keep him interested.

Trying to further my evaluation of Jeahs skill we completing a reading assignment. Where we rfead brief articles and answered questions together. This testing her comprehension, which she is pretty good at. I've noticed if she reads out loud she seems to understand stuff better.

 August 3rd Today Jeah and I met after a brief break, we worked on learning new words and what they mean. She loves to draw so I let her draw the new words she learned.
