Devon TS #2
Tutee: Hang-ah Kim
Yesterday Hang-ah and I had our second tutoring session. Hang-ah is very proficient in English, and only really has difficulty with fast conversation, as seen in audios and video clips, as well as lacks in knowledge pertaining to more colloquial words. We started the class running through guided conversations where I would ask a question as a waiter or a travel agent, and then provide new words in parenthesis. Hang-ah then had to respond to my questions using said words. While going over the answers, I noticed that Hang-ah either misused or completely left out modal auxiliaries in her speech. Because I already had a lesson plan for this topic, I shifted my lesson plan slightly and tailored my modal auxiliary lesson to the activity that we were already doing.
