Braden CP #1
I met my conversation partner, Masoud, on campus in Strozier. He is from Saudia Arabia and has only ever taken one English class in University. At the time of our meeting, he had only been in the US for 10 days, so his English was still very basic. He struggled a lot of the time finding words, but for the most part understood what I was saying. We did have to pull out a translator a few times, but not frequently, and we would try to rephrase things before using a translator. We talked mostly about basic subjects, like differences in the food and the weather in Tallahassee vs his home town. We also talked about places he wanted to visit in the US, mostly other cities in the southeast like Atlanta, GA or Columbia, SC. I am looking forward to hearing his English improve and getting to know him better.
